Last night was one of the strongest wind and lightening storms since I’ve experienced since I have lived in AZ. It was like a hot hurricane. It rained but it was the monster wind gusts that were scary. The windows are built well but I thought maybe they would bust. It just sounded bad. There are trees down around where I live. This morning the atm bank was blocked by a downed tree. Our neighbors tree broke down into our yard. So, today feels like Florida here in the desert. It is a nice change cause it isn’t so dry. Everyone must fuck like rabbits in the winter because there sure are a ton of summer birthdays! I just got done celebrating two birthdays which are just a few days apart and then another one today. Home sweet home again! This is what I wish for everyone, to be able to have a safe home and be with the ones they love. I realize everyone has their opinions about what is going on with separating immigrant families that cross the border illegally and it gets everyone fired up but everyone needs to put themselves in another’s shoes and think about what they would do if they were in a dire, dangerous situation. I can compare it to being in a dangerous, abusive relationship and having to have an action plan to escape with no money and limited resources. I have always been a humanitarian at heart and sometimes in desperate situations, I believe the law needs to be flexible and care. I couldn’t write a new blog without addressing this and voicing my opinion. What really needs to change is the legal process to become a citizen legally as I know it is very expensive and if you don’t have the resources and money it is super difficult. I know many will disagree with me on this issue but imagine your own family having to go through this.

Down time is important for all of us especially if you are a workaholic. Sometimes we can get too driven that we forget to smell the roses and enjoy life and relax. I can get like this at times or get stuck into a routine too much. So, this week, I’m taking a time out to go paddle boarding out on a lake that is not too far from me. I’ve never tried paddle boarding before so will be a new adventure. I took surfing lessons when I was a teen and I truly love the water and being outdoors. I always feel renewed after spending a day outside. So, if you are getting into a daily routine rut, plan a day when you can to get out and try something new. I am home again from traveling and shooting. This was a very memorable trip for sure!
